This is an electron micrograph of cilia from a mouse where the gastric HKatpase was deleted and in the greater curvature of the stomach where the parietal cells normally reside there were ciliated cells.  This short animation identifies in this particular cell and this particular cilium the typical ultrastructure for the basal body, the transition zone and the axonemene — i.e. the transition from 9 triplets to 9 doublets.
